Port Phillip Bay Winter Session June

Date: 28/6

Weather: Calming through the day.

Spots: Went to rye to chase squid, worked the grounds at south channel pile but only snagged 1 squid. then moved to Pinnance Channel to look for a gummy. No luck after an hour or so. Then trolled through some bait balls in search of salmon. No luck. Then moved to the east side of mud island to chase whiting and flatties. There were these weird bugs on our bait after 5 minutes, so pulled up anchor. Then went to Pile 1 in chase of gummies again and caught heaps of flatties. Then went to the middle of the bay in chase of snapper. Caught heaps of flatties.

Catch: 30-40 flatties, 14 keepers. A couple of banjo sharks. 1 squid.

Crew: Ross & Toon

Review: Awesome. Just awesome.

Rating: 10/10. Would have been nice to catch a few more squid and a proper fish, but sooooo good to get out.

Phillip Island

Location: Phillip Island (Tinny)
Date: 02.03.09
Time: 11am-6pm
Weather: Mild Chop
Crew: Mad, Amy, Shane, Ange
Target Fish: What ever
Bait: Pippie, Blue Bait
Rigs: Surf Rig, Squid Jig (pink)

Berley: None
Catch: 4 x Blue Leather Jacket (1 big one)
1 x Squid (medium size)
3 x Whiting

+7 x Poo Fish
1 x Flathead (big)
Report: Great day of the tinny. Multiple locations used, main site straight out all deck visible. Pippie most succesful for catching fish other than Poo Fish. Flathead caught by most inexperienced fisher we all thought she was just snagged till she pulled it in the boat. Hooked up to, what could only have been, a big ray... shot away taking about 3/4 of the line then snapping the rod... shit!!

Phillip Island - Sometime Jan '08

Location: Phillip Island - Secret Spot (Tinnie)
Crew: Ross, Toon, Luke
Time: 10:00am - 3:00pm

Catch: 1x Aussie Salmon, 1x Large Flattie, 8+x Other Flattie, 2x Pinkie, 2x Whiting, 1xSquid

Report: Went out to chase Mako's - boat broke down, dang! Next best option is to take the tinnie out, so we did, and managed a nice haul of fish. Caught the squid using a squid jig with some flathead baited on the jig points. This spot never disappoints.
